Inspired by Google Chrome which has over 30 million users, Google has decided to release a new open-source OS, “Google Chrome OS”. This OS is targeted for NetBooks. Well Many of you might be thinking, where is Android?

Google Clarified that this OS is separate from Android, Google Chrome OS is meant for people who spent most of their time on the computer Surfing the web. It is Based on Linux Kernel. It’s Very simple, A Chrome Running with a different Windowing system. This may turn out a bigger problem for Windows Later. But right now, no predictions.

Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

All web based applications can run on the Chrome OS and the best part is that all of these applications will also run on your Windows or a Mac computer. Another Good news is that Chrome OS will work on x86 and ARM Chips, both! Google also said that it is in talks with it’s partners and will be releasing it by the start of 2010.
