I know so many people fake around the internet saying that they have like 100K subscribers while in reality the don’t even have about 100. So i found a great way to Find out what their real feed count may be. So Fakers beware!
Here’s my little tutorial –
- First find the feedburner url of the feed for example Etiole’s Feedburner url will be feeds.feedburner.com/etiole
- Just copy the the feed name in the url like “feeds.feedburner.com/THEFEEDNAME“
- Now after doing that simply replace the bold word in the url i am giving – “http://feeds.feedburner.com/~fc/THEFEEDNAME?bg=99CCFF&fg=444444&anim=1
- After replacing THEFEEDNAME with the name of the feed you want to find out the subsciber count copy the url into your browser window and then press enter.
- That’s it. You have the real feed count!
Yeah, the faking number of subscribers seems kinda dumb to me. If you want that to be a measure of how successful you are, it just seems counter productive to pay to fake that, imo. Really instructive post, I like how you handled the subject. Cheers.
Thanks 🙂
What is the feedburner url of the feed? Is it just, say, feedburner.google.DOMAINNAME?
How do you find it?
It's always feeds.feedburner.com/THEFEEDNAME 🙂 for me i have used branding and so the url is feeds.etiole.com/etiole
